NYSALC held it’s 62nd biennial Convention in Niagara Falls, N.Y. from 6/25-27 2017, in the Sheraton at the Falls Hotel and Conference Center..224 delegates representing 19 branches attended along with 14 NYSALC officers and Executive Board members. We were joined by National President Fred Rolando, Director of Health Benefits Brian Hellman, NBA Region 11 Dan Toth, RAAs Mark Camilli, and John Collins, Region 15 NBA Larry Cirelli and RAAs Tom Matthews, Orlando Gonzalez, and N.E.Region L.P.O. Tony Perconte
The early breakout training given by Tony Perconte was well attended and greatly appreciated…The afternoon breakouts done by both NBAs and Staff, were likewise well attended and informative..
The general session was addressed by Chris Bortollati, from the Western NY ALF, who gave a short presentation to the delegates concerning the Constitutional Convention question on this years ballot, and how it will adversely affect all labor unions in New York..We then had a short program with MDA’s Derek Murphy and family, with the 5 NYS division winners in this years’ MDA program and Fred..
We passed 2 of 3 resolutions in session, and President Rolando spoke on Legislative goals, and the parameters of the new tentative National Agreement..The nominations saw the entire block of Officers and Executive Board re-elected with minor changes..Fred then presided over the installation of officers on Tuesday morning..

My personal Thanks, to all Officers and Executive Board members, for a professional and well organized event that was enjoyed by everyone..Special accolades to Branch 3 Buffalo, and President Larry Kania, for an outstanding job..
